Hell hath no fury like a goddess scorned. When Jessie Shimmer traveled to a nightmare underworld to save her lover, Cooper Marron, she gained magical powers . . . which soon seemed more like curses. Her beloved familiar, the ferret Pal, became a monster. Her enemies multiplied like demons. Worst of all, she hasn’t found a moment of peace to be with the man she adores.

Switchblade Goddess is the third Jessie Shimmer book, and I highly enjoyed reading it. The setting starts out the same as the previous book – in rural Texas. Jessie is much more conflicted in this book, and there are some dark and exciting scenes that push her in new directions. I felt that the character development in this book was much better than the previous two because it wasn’t just about Jessie using her powers in tough situations to get through. There were difficult decisions to make, and very dark circumstances involved. I look forward to reading other books by Lucy A. Snyder.
