As Yelena searches for the person whose poisoned arrow stripped her of her magic, Valek finds his job and life in danger as he attempts to broker peace in Ixia.
I loved the flow of this book. It switched from first person to third person, depending on whether Yelena was the focus of the chapter or not, and I really enjoyed the technique (in fact, it took me forever to notice – it flowed that seamlessly). Again, a very good book and a welcome continuation of the Ixia / Sitia series by Maria Snyder. The book starts out great and an immediate calamity has long-reaching consequences. Great plot and continued character development.
